UAE dirham rate in Iran today
The dirham to Toman rate is shown above for Tehran and Dubai. The dirham is pegged to the dollar, so its Toman price is roughly the dollar to Toman rate divided by 3.6725.
Dubai dirham rate
EZRate tracks the dirham in Dubai exchange offices separately and shows the gap to Tehran.
AED to IRR and remittances
Multiply the Toman price by ten for AED to IRR. Dirham remittances settle much of Iran’s imports and are priced close to cash dirhams.
The dirham and its fixed dollar peg
The dirham is the currency of the United Arab Emirates and has been pegged to the US dollar since 1997 at 3.6725 dirhams per dollar. That is why the dirham in Toman is roughly the free-market dollar divided by 3.6725, and it mostly follows the dollar’s moves in Iran.
Why the dirham is in demand in Iran
Dubai is one of the most important trade and finance hubs for Iranian businesses. A large share of imports, remittances and foreign settlements goes through Dubai exchange offices, and business and leisure trips to the UAE add to cash demand.
Tehran dirham vs Dubai dirham
EZRate calculates the dirham separately for Tehran and Dubai. The gap is usually small but can widen on volatile days or when cash is scarce.
How EZRate calculates the rate
EZRate bots are members of active trading groups and channels and read their buy and sell messages every minute. Quotes that deviate from the market median by more than the allowed band (±1% by default) are discarded and a weighted median of the rest is published. When too few valid sources are available, the rate is flagged as “low sources” so you always know how reliable it is.
