Why EZRate rates are the real market rates

The real market rate is the price at which deals actually change hands — and today most of those deals happen in online trading groups and channels. EZRate takes its rates from those trades and passes them through several filters before publishing:

  1. Real trades, not announced rates

    EZRate bots read the buy and sell messages of dozens of active trading groups and channels every minute and take their median — the median, not the average, so a single odd number cannot move the rate.

  2. Checked against dozens of reputable sources

    To be sure, the same rate is compared with dozens of reputable sources: established currency websites and APIs, gold and coin trading and price websites, the largest crypto exchanges and trusted price-API providers.

  3. Outliers and dictated prices removed

    Any rate that drifts away from the real market is set aside: dictated rates, prices announced by dealers to stir the market and profit from its swings, and plain typos.

  4. The final median, with its sources

    The median of everything left is the EZRate rate. Each price shows how many sources it was computed from, so you can judge its reliability yourself.

The result: a rate that has passed several layers of filters — not dictated, not manipulated, and as close as possible to real market trades. How the rate is calculated →
